The Summer Enrichment Program at Winston Preparatory School
The Summer Enrichment Program at WPS is an extension of the WPS philosophy, principles and model that takes place during the summer months. It provides students with the unique opportunity to participate in an individually designed program aimed to enhance academic skills and foster independence.
TThe Winston Preparatory School New York Summer Enrichment Program has two sessions this year: June 28th – July 22nd and July 26th – August 12th. Winston Prep provides students with the unique opportunity to participate in an individually designed program aimed to enhance academic skills and foster independence. The Summer Program also gives parents the flexibility
to create an academic program specifically matched to the needs of their child. The program develops decoding and encoding, reading comprehension, critical-thinking skills, memory retrieval, executive functioning skills, written language expression, self-advocacy, mathematical computation, social pragmatics, time-management skills, test preparation, and expressive language skills within a nurturing, academic environment. The summer staff consists of reading specialists, special education instructors, and speech and language pathologists from Winston’s full-time faculty. At the end of the
program, parents will receive a detailed, in-depth progress report.
Students entering third through twelfth grades from private, public, mainstream, and special educational settings come to WPS seeking to improve their academic skills.
