Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
SICSA Humane Education Summer Camp is a six-week program designed for children between 7 and 14 years old to learn about animal care, veterinary science, and animal welfare through interactive and engaging activities. Campers gain hands-on experience in veterinary techniques such as medical exams and suturing, along with creative projects like making enrichment snacks and animal cell cookie decoration. The camp’s curriculum covers topics from basic animal behavior to shelter work, aiming to cultivate empathy and knowledge about animals among campers. With scholarship opportunities funded by the David Irwin Brown Humane Education Fund, the camp is accessible to children from diverse backgrounds. Mini camps held offsite at the Fairborn Library further enhance the camp’s educational mission.
