Onward and Upward Teen Summer Programs

The Onward and Upward teen summer programs offer exciting outdoor activities centered in the Matanuska Valley, featuring an 8-day backpacking trip and a 3-day rock climbing course. These experiences are carefully planned to immerse youth in nature, fostering physical fitness, confidence, and social skills. The backpacking expedition is a comprehensive adventure that pushes teenagers to discover their limits and build resilience through sustained outdoor activity. The rock climbing course offers a chance to master climbing skills while boosting self-esteem. Scholarship options support participation from Knik Tribal members and local youth from the Mat-Su Valley, with access to Youth 360 scholarships and internal financial aid.
