Michigan 4-H Animal and Veterinary Science Camp offers a unique five-day immersive experience for teenagers aged 13 to 16 who want to delve into animal and veterinary sciences. Held at Michigan State University, the camp fosters a partnership between Michigan 4-H Youth Development, the MSU Department of Animal Science, and the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine. Participants enjoy practical activities such as animal handling, touring university farms, and participating in team-based veterinary case studies. Campers collaboratively present their case studies to veterinarians who provide insightful critiques, enhancing their understanding of the field. This educational camp is both fun and interactive, encouraging youths to engage with animal-related careers, enhance their scientific skills, and connect with community programs. It is an excellent opportunity for pre-college students to gain invaluable experience in veterinary medicine and animal science.
