Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
At the Lake Superior Zoo, summer day camps provide a safe and engaging environment where children learn about animals and conservation while having fun. These camps feature interactive animal encounters, crafts, games, and educational activities tailored by age group. Young children aged 4-5 can enjoy the Cub Club, a short program emphasizing exploratory learning and social games. For older kids between 6 and 8 years, Zoo Troop camps allow them to experience animal adventures and even work as zookeepers for a week. There are specialized camps such as the Zookeeper Camp for children aged 8-12 with autism, which is supported by expertise in autism and zoo education. The Eco-Explorers program helps kids aged 9-12 explore zoology and conservation careers, while teenagers from 13 to 17 years old can join the Zoo Crew to participate in actual zoo operations, animal care, and visitor education. These thoughtfully structured camps nurture a love for wildlife and environmental stewardship.
