Spark New Ideas at the All-New 2026 Camp Invention at Stahl Elementary School, Texas
For over 35 years, the National Inventors Hall of Fame® has brought hands-on STEM experiences to K-6 students across the country through our flagship summer program, Camp Invention®. This weeklong camp sparks creativity and boosts confidence as campers tackle fun STEM challenges inspired by real-world inventors.
This nationally acclaimed program is full of open-ended, hands-on exploration of science, technology, engineering and more! Each year, Camp Invention delivers an all-new program to ignite the spirit of innovation. As campers collaborate to take on fun, hands-on challenges, they uncover their potential to become creators, innovators and entrepreneurs while building persistence and creative problem-solving skills. In our all-new 2026 program, Spark, campers explore everything from adorable robotic capybaras to inspiring space exploration in four dynamic experiences.
Fur-ensics™
Campers sharpen their detective skills and team up with their very own robotic capybara to investigate a series of mischievous pranks. After exploring the inner mechanics of their capybara, children build sleuthing gadgets to support their epic animal investigation. From animal tracks to DNA and fingerprints, children practice persistence and creative problem-solving as they collect curious clues and conduct hands-on forensic science techniques to solve an animal mystery.
Make Waves™
Surf’s up! Campers dive into the exciting world of entrepreneurship and catch their first big break. Inspired by National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductee Tom Blake and his surfboard innovations, children build confidence as they splash into hands-on physics experiments, paddle their way through salty challenges and pitch their prototypes to hook investors. As they transform inventions into popular products, campers design an innovative billboard boat to “make waves” in the market with ocean advertising.
The Infringers™
Campers spark their innovative superpowers and team up with the Innovation Force™ – National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductees – to identify and solve challenges in their community and around the world. Exploring innovative security tools, from reCAPTCHA to iris recognition, children miniaturize top-secret inventions, create a wearable cryptography device and learn how to safeguard their designs through intellectual property against the Infringers, who are duplicating inventions!
Space Morphers™
Children stretch their imagination and launch a mission to transform a new planet’s atmosphere, terrain and ecosystem for future habitation. Igniting their creativity, campers build a DIY space rocket and experiment with trajectory. After a high-energy Rover Race to collect important data and samples, they design and build inventions for navigating the intense conditions of their planet. In their space lab, campers make new discoveries and record observations as they hatch an animal egg and grow a dazzling crystal tree.

This was the most incredible opportunity for my son. He came home everyday excited to tell us about what he had created. This program was very well organized from a parent perspective as well. I appreciated how everything was communicated through email and in a timely fashion. I trust this program not only to care for my son, but also it provides him quality enrichment and motivates him to learn more.
This was a great experience. It provided a great learning experience with friends and at this age that’s really what they need from a camp.
My son loves Camp Invention!
My son had a wonderful time. He loved the hands-on activities and making new friends. This was his first year to go to camp and he wants to continue to go to this camp every year. Thank you for helping my son make memories and continuing his education.
My daughter has attended Camp Invention for the last 4 years and looks forward to it every summer. She comes home after camp very excited and explains all the new things she did at camp that day. She also utilizes her take home projects all summer long.
My daughter has attended camp invention for four years now and she continues to LOVE all the hands on engineering and up cycling. She is always energized each morning looking forward to the new day of experimenting.
My child had fun creating, being challenged, and solving problems with like-minded friends. He came home with ideas that have carried him through the weeks following camp.
Every day our boys would jump in the car excited with what they had learned at the camp. The oldest one now wants to be an imagineer like the one he learned about.
Connecting with other GT students. Illusions and penguin launch were favorites.
Camp Invention had such a positive impact on my child. She couldn’t wait to go to camp each day, and even now she continues to invent all sorts of things while using the terminology she learned at camp. Thank you!
This program had such a positive impact on my son this summer. He was looking forward to camp even before school was over. I was able to bring my son and his classmate to camp together as well as pickup. Listening to their daily people projects and seeing their creations was very memorable. Both boys were talking non stop about how much fun they were having while learning with hands on activities. Both of my children have loved this program and the skills they’ve learned have helped them throughout the school year.
This was my son’s second year at camp invention. He was so excited and had been looking forward to it all year. He was sad when the week was over. He was very happy to bring home and show off all his creations.
Our Grandson is proud of his abilities to create and learn about new things and already expressed he wants to go to Camp Invention next summer!
My son loved program and is now really looking forward to attending the magnet STEM school in the district.
