Spark New Ideas at the All-New 2026 Camp Invention at Dawson County Middle School, Georgia
For over 35 years, the National Inventors Hall of Fame® has brought hands-on STEM experiences to K-6 students across the country through our flagship summer program, Camp Invention®. This weeklong camp sparks creativity and boosts confidence as campers tackle fun STEM challenges inspired by real-world inventors.
This nationally acclaimed program is full of open-ended, hands-on exploration of science, technology, engineering and more! Each year, Camp Invention delivers an all-new program to ignite the spirit of innovation. As campers collaborate to take on fun, hands-on challenges, they uncover their potential to become creators, innovators and entrepreneurs while building persistence and creative problem-solving skills. In our all-new 2026 program, Spark, campers explore everything from adorable robotic capybaras to inspiring space exploration in four dynamic experiences.
Fur-ensics™
Campers sharpen their detective skills and team up with their very own robotic capybara to investigate a series of mischievous pranks. After exploring the inner mechanics of their capybara, children build sleuthing gadgets to support their epic animal investigation. From animal tracks to DNA and fingerprints, children practice persistence and creative problem-solving as they collect curious clues and conduct hands-on forensic science techniques to solve an animal mystery.
Make Waves™
Surf’s up! Campers dive into the exciting world of entrepreneurship and catch their first big break. Inspired by National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductee Tom Blake and his surfboard innovations, children build confidence as they splash into hands-on physics experiments, paddle their way through salty challenges and pitch their prototypes to hook investors. As they transform inventions into popular products, campers design an innovative billboard boat to “make waves” in the market with ocean advertising.
The Infringers™
Campers spark their innovative superpowers and team up with the Innovation Force™ – National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductees – to identify and solve challenges in their community and around the world. Exploring innovative security tools, from reCAPTCHA to iris recognition, children miniaturize top-secret inventions, create a wearable cryptography device and learn how to safeguard their designs through intellectual property against the Infringers, who are duplicating inventions!
Space Morphers™
Children stretch their imagination and launch a mission to transform a new planet’s atmosphere, terrain and ecosystem for future habitation. Igniting their creativity, campers build a DIY space rocket and experiment with trajectory. After a high-energy Rover Race to collect important data and samples, they design and build inventions for navigating the intense conditions of their planet. In their space lab, campers make new discoveries and record observations as they hatch an animal egg and grow a dazzling crystal tree.

Great program! Loved it!
My child spends a lot of time at home after camp each day working on things she learned at camp.
My child could not stop talking about this camp.
Enjoyed working together with others. Loved building machines. Excited to go back next year.
This is our 4th year at Camp Invention and every year we are so impressed with all of the projects our daughter gets to do.
My child always has a great time and enjoys the activities. She is proud to show me what she created.
My child has loved camp and looked forward to it every day!
My kid learnt new concepts and gained skills to do it. Made new friends and enjoyed the science camp a lot!
He is far more excited about electronics and AI. He wants to incorporate a small camera and board to have his little “bat” decode Morse code using the device they built at camp. Everything he went to do is motivating him to join FIRST LEGO League at school next year.
All of the workers were kind and helped them be successful.
Had a great time. Enjoyed him coming home and explaining what he made, how he made it, what he used, and how it worked. He was proud to be teaching me different things.
My child enjoys STEM and loves engaging in fun, creative activities. As she is having a strong interest in STEM, we are looking forward for the next year.
We love Camp Invention and the way it lets children be creative and learn science and technology in a fun way!
Thank you so much for all efforts for our kids. Sending my kid to camp was the best decision I ever made. She learned so many positive things – confidence, creative ideas, and exciting adventures.
He’s more confident and willing to try new things and love to come up with new ideas for things.
My child has gained confidence to test her mind and ability to try out making things from provided or available materials.
Look forward to this week every summer! Positive learning and entertainment to experience vs the standard school setting.
It has helped her use resources lying around to create cool projects
I love this program. It has helped both my kids use their creative minds and make things. It also helps that not everything is perfect when you build it, but you make it your own.
Both of my children enjoyed it! So happy to hear all the stories they’d tell me on the car ride home!
