Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
Camp Erin Portland offers a free weekend bereavement camp opportunity for young people aged 6 to 17 who have experienced the death of someone important to them. The overnight camp blends grief education, emotional support, and entertaining camp activities like music, storytelling, and fishing. Led by professional bereavement staff and compassionate volunteers, the camp provides a nurturing setting for campers to express their feelings, build essential resilience skills, and form friendships with others facing similar losses. Held mainly in June, the camp includes accommodations in cabins supervised by adults and mental health professionals. A Family Day Camp is also held in October for grieving youth and their families, encouraging mutual support and community connection. Camp Erin Portland operates as part of Eluna’s national network, is funded fully by donations, and is committed to making this healing experience free for all participants.
