Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
Ages 6–13 | Nod Hill Farm, Avon, CT | US Horse Welfare & Rescue
Adventures with Horses on the Farm is a joyful, hands-on summer day camp where children spend their days outdoors at a real horse rescue, building confidence, compassion, and unforgettable memories. Whether new to riding or seeking to better their skills in the saddle, our horses will be geat teachers coupled with talented and experienced instructors.
This is not a “ride in circles” camp. Campers become part of the barn family—working with rescued horses, learning how to care for them, and discovering what it means to be kind, capable, and connected. Each day blends horsemanship, nature exploration, creative play, and teamwork in a safe, welcoming farm environment.
Along the way, children naturally develop essential life skills such as empathy, responsibility, patience, communication, confidence, and teamwork—skills that serve them far beyond the farm.
Children learn how to:
Ride, groom, lead, and communicate with horses
Help with age-appropriate barn chores
Understand horse behavior and body language
Build confidence through gentle riding experiences
Work together, solve problems, and support one another
In between horse time, campers enjoy:
Nature walks and farm adventures
Creative projects and themed activities
Games that build teamwork and leadership
Quiet moments with gentle ponies and senior horses
Plenty of fresh air, movement, and laughter
Camp is led by experienced instructors and caring mentors in small groups. Safety, kindness, and emotional well-being are central to everything we do. Whether a child arrives shy, energetic, nervous, or horse-obsessed, they leave feeling proud of themselves, excited about what they’ve learned and eager to continue growing their skills.
Adventures on the Farm is ideal for children who love riding, animals, nature, and meaningful experiences—and for parents who want a camp that builds both skills and heart.
Why Parents Choose Us
Parents choose Adventures on the Farm because it offers something rare: a screen-free, heart-centered experience where children are truly seen. Here, kids slow down, breathe fresh air, form real bonds with animals and each other, and discover that they are capable of more than they imagined. It’s a place where shy children find their voice, energetic children find focus, and every child feels valued for exactly who they are.
What Makes Us Different
Our farm is serene, calm, nurturing, and relationship-based. This is a grounded, peaceful, emotionally safe, and deeply human place, where the rhythm of the farm and the gentle nature of our horses invite children to slow down and simply be themselves. Many parents tell us their child comes home with a sense of calm and safety, and they can truly exhale—where stress fades, confidence grows, and connection comes naturally.
Adventures on the Farm provides for small groups, patient instructors, predictable routines, and gentle horses to create a setting where every child can feel safe, successful, and valued exactly as they are.
