Veterinary Science Camp

This summer camp, Veterinary Science Camp, offers an exciting week-long experience for kids aged 5 to 13 interested in exotic animals and veterinary care. Scheduled for July 8 through July 12, 2024, campers attend from 8 AM to 5 PM with optional late care until 5 PM. The program includes hands-on learning about how exotic animals are taken care of, what veterinary professionals do, and the daily routines of zookeepers. Campers engage in making animal habitats, art projects, and participate in educational discussions. Highlights of the camp include a visit from Austin Zoo Educational Outreach and a field trip to the Austin Zoo, as well as a chance to interact with animals at a traveling petting zoo. The camp’s small size, limited to 25 participants, ensures a close-knit environment where campers can deeply connect with the subject matter and each other. The schedule is thoughtfully designed to combine education with fun physical activities and social interaction.
