Designed for aspiring veterinary nurses, the Veterinary Nursing (Vet Tech) program provides students with an extensive education and training in animal healthcare. The curriculum offers a blend of theoretical and practical learning, preparing students for roles in veterinary hospitals, research labs, and diagnostic centers. Coursework includes patient care management, animal nursing, nutrition, clinical pathology, radiology, anesthesiology, surgical assisting, and communication skills necessary to interact with pet owners. Students have the opportunity to earn an Associate of Applied Science degree, requiring 68 credit hours. Accredited by relevant veterinary and academic bodies, the program aims to produce skilled veterinary professionals who can confidently pass the VTNE and positively impact veterinary healthcare delivery in Kansas.
