Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
Montgomery College’s Veterinary Assistant Training Program is a comprehensive educational pathway designed to equip students with the essential veterinary skills for entry-level support jobs in animal care settings. It includes a mix of theoretical and practical lessons broken down into four modules that cover various veterinary topics, from outpatient procedures to emergency care. The program spans from September through May and culminates with certificates upon completion. Prospective students must pass an initial assessment exam and attend a required orientation before starting their coursework. Classes usually meet once a week on Fridays at the Rockville Campus. The program also encourages real-world experience by facilitating connections with veterinary clinics for hands-on learning. Enrollment for the next cycle opens in Summer 2026 with preliminary assessment and orientation details announced in Spring 2026.
