Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
The Vet Science Camp is designed for high school students interested in animal science and veterinary careers. Participants engage in a multifaceted program to prepare for the Veterinary Science Career Development Event (CDE), aligning with South Carolina agricultural education standards. Expert industry professionals provide insights into career pathways within the veterinary and animal science fields. Campers develop practical skills including medication administration, animal restraint techniques, surgical equipment preparation, and disease management. The experience combines educational sessions with interactive activities, such as visits to the North Myrtle Beach Humane Society and Alligator Adventure, team problem-solving exercises, and fun social events like bonfires and bingo nights. The camp maintains a structured schedule over four days, from April 10 to 13, , at the SC FFA Leadership Center in North Myrtle Beach, SC. The cost is $125 per person, with limited space for 80 students, emphasizing a small-group, hands-on learning environment that supports both knowledge and personal growth in veterinary science.
