Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
The HEALERS program at UAMS caters to Pulaski County high school juniors and seniors interested in healthcare careers. This summer experience involves learning from medical professionals about various healthcare roles and acquiring essential skills like first aid—covering bandaging, bleeding control, splinting, and spinal support—and Basic Life Support (CPR). Participants improve their medical vocabulary and learn about adolescent health topics to help make informed decisions. The program also emphasizes gaining clinical experience through volunteering, helping students understand the day-to-day realities of medical work while building valuable hands-on skills.
