Triple Lake Dude Ranch

Established in 1918, Triple Lake Dude Ranch in Succasunna, NJ, offered an authentic cowboy experience with horseback riding and a western theme that drew guests from city areas. The Gaynor family, owners in the 1950s and 60s, expanded the ranch by adding a restaurant, modern amenities, and multiple activities such as swimming at a nearby resort pool, tennis, and seasonal features like a toboggan run. It fostered a welcoming inclusive atmosphere for both Jewish and Christian guests, hosting social occasions and horseback riding lessons provided at no extra cost. By the late 1960s the ranch closed and the land eventually became public parkland. Originally a rustic spot turned popular retreat, it holds a nostalgic place in local history.
