The Oxbow Youth Veterinarian Camps

At The Oxbow Youth Veterinarian Camps, children passionate about animals and veterinary science can immerse themselves in hands-on learning experiences. The camp is structured into two groups according to grade levels: Junior for 2nd-5th graders and Intermediate for 6th-8th graders. Guided by knowledgeable instructors with science backgrounds, campers participate in diverse activities such as suturing, building anatomy models, doing science crafts, performing wellness exams, and handling live animal interactions. These activities are supplemented by Q&A sessions with veterinary professionals and daily themed animal interactions. The camp concludes with a mock surgery where campers dress in scrubs and use stethoscopes, simulating a real veterinary environment. Available only in Nebraska’s Lincoln and Omaha metropolitan regions, this camp offers a unique blend of science education and practical animal care experience for youth interested in veterinary careers.
