Located just six blocks from the heart of Bandera, The Mayan Ranch offers an authentic dude ranch escape amidst cedar-covered hills and along the Medina River’s gentle curve. The 348-acre ranch, originally a 1930s Girl Scouts site, continues its legacy with rustic cabins and miles of riding trails, complemented by a swimming pool, sports courts, a Western-themed village, and a welcoming lodge with dining. Its family-friendly activities cover everything from hayrides and fishing to roping, archery, dance lessons, and hoedowns, ensuring fun for all ages. The Hicks family, owning and operating the ranch for three generations, provides hearty home-cooked meals based on long-standing recipes. Wildlife encounters with deer, armadillos, and other native animals add to the rural charm. With a warm, welcoming atmosphere and an array of zany activities from morning into the evening, The Mayan Ranch captures the true essence of dude ranch hospitality and adventure.
