WVU Parkersburg presents the Teen Medical Explorers Academy, a free summer program designed for teenagers interested in health care careers. This academy provides an immersive experience where students work with professional instructors and participate in hands-on medical training such as patient care, surgery prep, and obstetrics simulations. The curriculum covers vital areas including medical terminology, anatomy, first aid, and CPR certification, helping students develop a comprehensive understanding of medicine. Additionally, the program offers a unique tour of WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center, allowing students to observe hospital operations firsthand. Over four days in June 2025, participants aged 13 to 17 will engage in interactive sessions and practical activities that connect them with healthcare professionals and peers, fostering networking and career preparation. Limited to 20 students, the program includes lunch and requires prior registration by June 2, 2025.
