Offered by the Tulane National Primate Research Center, this nine-week summer program provides veterinary students with vital exposure to diagnostic and clinical care in nonhuman primate medicine. Under the guidance of experienced faculty veterinarians, students engage in activities ranging from colony health monitoring to surgical procedures and pathology, gaining practical skills critical to laboratory animal medicine. The program is structured to foster a deep understanding of research-supportive veterinary practices. Scheduled from late May to early August , participants must commit to the full duration. The program targets veterinary students early in their academic career and offers a stipend to successful candidates. Located in Covington, Louisiana, the program emphasizes hands-on learning and culminates in a presentation of a case report.
