Summer Scholars Program at CHKD and ODU

The Summer Scholars Program is an intensive summer research internship for students keen on pursuing careers in clinical medicine or health research. Working closely with faculty mentors from Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters and ODU’s Virginia Health Sciences department, participants engage in pre-selected research projects. The program combines formal research training with hands-on experience in designing, conducting, and presenting scientific research. Students will conclude their summer by sharing their research findings with experts in the field. This program enhances academic and practical skills, preparing students for future professional paths in medicine and research sciences.
