Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
The Queen’s Medical Center offers an 8-week Summer Research Internship (SRI) for undergraduate students aiming to explore careers in medicine and medical research. In partnership with the University of Hawaii’s John A. Burns School of Medicine, the program delivers an extensive curriculum that includes weekly seminars on research methodologies, hands-on mentored research projects, and clinical observation opportunities across various specialties. Interns also visit medical school and hospital sites and participate in cultural activities related to Native Hawaiian health. This carefully designed internship prepares students by enhancing their research skills, providing clinical exposure, and fostering an understanding of community health, all within a supportive learning environment.
