Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
The Sugarbush Soaring Youth Soaring Camps offer an immersive summer experience for teens aged 13 to 18, focusing on aviation and flight training. Located at the Warren-Sugarbush Airport in Vermont, this seven-day overnight camp provides up to ten flight instruction sessions led by experienced FAA-certified instructors in two-seater gliders. Participants also attend daily ground school lessons that cover a broad range of topics from aviation laws to practical flying maneuvers. Beyond flight training, campers enjoy a variety of social and recreational activities, including swimming, kayaking, playing sports, nighttime bonfires, and stargazing. Educational field trips to air traffic control facilities and aviation technology companies complement the hands-on flying experience. The program stresses the importance of safety and high standards while fostering STEM skills, critical thinking, leadership, and personal growth in a supportive and enjoyable environment.
