Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
SPUR is a competitive summer research program hosted by the Medical College of Wisconsin that offers an immersive experience in scientific research for participants nationwide. With an average of 40 participants yearly from a diverse array of over 80 schools and 25 states, the program matches students with faculty mentors based on their preferred research areas. Applications require transcripts, recommendation letters, and a personal online form, submitted by February 1, 2025. The full-time program runs from late May through early August, providing a stipend and optional housing to participants. Although previous lab experience is beneficial, it is not a requirement, allowing students to gain hands-on research skills across multiple lab settings. International students on valid F-1 visas enrolled in U.S. institutions can also participate, following additional procedural steps with their schools.
