Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
Rural Medical & Science Scholars offers a unique four-week summer experience for Mississippi high school juniors and seniors interested in family medicine. Accepted students with ACT scores of 24 or above reside on the campus of Mississippi State University in Starkville, where they enroll in two advanced pre-med college courses. Additionally, the program provides a valuable clinical experience through shadowing family physicians. This comprehensive program is funded to cover major expenses such as tuition, housing, and books, requiring only a modest $100 registration fee and payment for meals. Operated by the Mississippi State University Extension Service, the camp strives to encourage and prepare young individuals for careers in rural family medicine.
