Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
Rhode Island 4-H Animal Projects Summer Camp provides youth with an interactive and comprehensive animal science education. Designed to teach critical aspects of animal biology, care, and management, the camp encourages practical, hands-on learning complemented by participation in seasonal fairs and competitions for skill recognition. The inclusive program permits involvement regardless of animal ownership, with opportunities to train animals sourced from the community. Its diverse focus areas span veterinary science, and multiple animal species including beef, swine, dairy, goats, dogs, horses, rabbits, poultry, and sheep, supported by tailored study materials and showmanship guides. In addition to animal care, participants develop valuable skills in record-keeping, communication, and entrepreneurship. The camp integrates educational quizzes, workshops, and special events such as hippology and judging contests, cultivating a well-rounded experience that fosters knowledge, responsibility, and social interaction.
