Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
The PMAH Summer Mentorship Program is a structured 8-week summer initiative that offers students a unique opportunity to gain direct insight into the medical profession. Open to college students, those in postgraduate or gap years, this program emphasizes clinical experience through observerships in various medical departments including Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery, and selective subspecialties. Students also participate in educational seminars on topics like medical career paths, personal statement writing, and interview techniques to better prepare for medical school. The program’s goal is to enhance participants’ understanding of medicine, improve their confidence as applicants, and nurture their dedication to community service in Hawaii. Successful participants receive a $500 award to support expenses associated with medical school applications upon program completion.
