Our Dakota Dreams Career Exploration Summer Camps

The Our Dakota Dreams Summer Career Exploration Camps are designed for South Dakota middle school students entering 7th and 8th grade to explore a variety of career options in a lively and educational residential setting. These no-cost, week-long camps take place on college campuses and introduce students to careers through active participation, including sessions led by industry professionals, visits to area businesses and technical colleges, and hands-on activities. Camp participants live on campus for four nights, enjoy meals in dining facilities, and take part in evening social events, all under continuous supervision. Career pathways cover a broad spectrum such as Health Sciences, Digital Media, Engineering, Business, and more. Campers benefit from a mix of classroom learning and real-world exploration that helps them evaluate their interests and future educational goals. Although the 2025 sessions were canceled owing to changes in federal funding, this program offers enriching experiences encouraging long-term career exploration and academic growth.
