Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
Ochsner STAR Program provides a unique, free summer opportunity for high school students to immerse themselves in the healthcare field over four weeks. Each weekday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., participants conduct innovative scientific research, receive practical medical training, and enhance leadership abilities. Students work alongside Ochsner scientists in specialized labs, utilize state-of-the-art medical technology, and hear from a variety of healthcare professionals about current medical innovations. The curriculum also promotes essential skills like resume crafting, effective presenting, and leadership, alongside enrichment activities including CPR training and stress management. This comprehensive experience is designed to motivate students to pursue advanced studies and professional careers in the sciences and medicine.
