Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
The 2025 NM-INBRE Summer Research Programs provide a rigorous eight-week full-time experience designed for undergraduate students interested in developing research skills across various scientific disciplines. The program includes three main pathways: a Bootcamp for beginners that entails microbial research and antimicrobial compound extraction; Internship programs at home institutions or at NMSU and UNM that engage students in personalized mentored projects; and a Virtual Bioinformatics workshop that offers remote exploration of disease genomics and outbreaks. Students are paid for their participation and receive housing support if participating on-site. Alongside research activities, the program emphasizes professional development and culminates in a symposium where students showcase their research achievements. Open to students from New Mexico and RAIN institutions, the program requires a full-time commitment and prepares participants for future scientific careers through practical experience and networking opportunities.
