NIU STEAM Biomedical & Health Career Camp

NIU STEAM offers a weeklong Biomedical & Health Career Camp tailored for students entering grades 9-12 with a keen interest in medicine and healthcare professions. As a residential camp, it provides an immersive environment where students gain firsthand exposure to the healthcare field. Participants engage with professionals who offer valuable insights into various health careers, educational paths, and salary ranges. The program also features interactions with college students actively working towards careers in health and medicine, creating a bridge between current students and future professionals. Learning occurs across different locations on NIU’s campus and in the local community, emphasizing hands-on experiences and practical learning. Campers culminate their experience by designing a biomedical device, applying the knowledge they’ve gathered.
