Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
The NIH Summer Internship Program (SIP) is designed for students and recent graduates interested in research careers. Participants engage in full-time research projects within the NIH Intramural Research Program, gaining exposure to basic, translational, and clinical research across various scientific disciplines. Students work closely with Principal Investigators on NIH campuses, notably the Bethesda campus. The program emphasizes professional growth, offering career counseling, skill development workshops, and wellness programs. Additionally, interns benefit from community events such as a Graduate and Professional School Fair and a Summer Poster Day, which foster networking and research presentation skills. This immersive summer experience prepares participants for future roles in biomedical and health-related research fields by combining rigorous research with career-oriented programming.
