Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
The NextGen Aviation Camp is an exciting one-day event organized by the Alaska Airmen’s Association at the Alaska Aviation Museum designed to introduce children to the field of aviation through interactive STEM-driven activities. Participants enjoy a variety of educational stations including building gliders, playing aviation-themed games, learning about the forces of flight, constructing and launching rockets, and experiencing air traffic control simulations. Throughout the day, campers are split into small groups, joining tours led by museum docents and hands-on instruction by knowledgeable volunteers. The program promotes teamwork, scientific exploration, and a passion for aviation while providing fun opportunities to understand aircraft operations. Volunteers are instrumental in ensuring smooth event flow and assisting campers with activities. This camp provides a memorable and inspiring aviation experience for youth.
