Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
At New Mexico Rocketeer Academy, children of all ages get to dive into the exhilarating world of space science through a diverse array of interactive summer camps and educational programs. These camps are designed to nurture interest in STEM-H disciplines by linking earth sciences with the wonders of outer space. Campers can expect hands-on projects like making “eggstronaut” capsules to protect eggs during drop tests, constructing scale models of the solar system, exploring robotic programming with Ozobots, and understanding Newton’s laws through dynamic rocket-building exercises. Beyond in-person camps at the museum, the academy offers remote programs that bring the space museum’s educational content directly to schools and community centers. Special activities include overnight museum sleepovers where participants can experience the museum at night and engage in unique educational games. The academy collaborates with renowned institutions in New Mexico to provide a rich and comprehensive curriculum that fosters curiosity and learning in an inspiring setting, encouraging future careers in space and science-related fields.
