NAM is a summer enrichment program lasting seven weeks, targeted at college students in their sophomore, junior, or senior years who aspire to enter the health professions. The program integrates extensive research training in both qualitative and quantitative methods, led by a team of Native American educators, healthcare experts, elders, and medical students. Participants earn a living stipend and can stay in campus housing if they travel to Duluth for the program. NAM focuses on equipping Native American students with the skills, networks, and experience required to thrive in medical and health-related careers, fostering their professional development and academic growth.
