The 2025 MSB Summer Exploration Programs cater to blind or visually impaired students, offering a range of specialized educational and recreational activities over the summer. The programs include “Set Your Sights on Adventure” for grades 8-12, focusing on orientation, mobility, and community leisure activities. Students explore various St. Louis locations to build skills and enjoy adapted leisure opportunities. For younger students in grades 3-8, “Sports and Leisure Recreation” introduces adapted sports such as goalball and rock climbing, promoting engagement in physical activity throughout life. The “Work Training and Experience” program, lasting 19 days, assists ages 16-21 in gaining work skills and job experience alongside summer schooling. The culinary arts-focused “Bon Appรฉtit” program teaches students in grades 8-12 essential cooking skills, menu planning, and adaptive techniques over 10 days. Younger students in grades 3-8 can participate in “Summer STEM Explorations: Mission to Mars,” which integrates space science exploration with practical STEM applications. Sessions run from late June to mid-July 2025, with free participation for eligible students, supervised housing for non-local attendees, and a May application deadline. The programs aim to promote independence, skill development, and career awareness.
