This 10-week Medicine and Research Summer Program led by Columbia University’s Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons offers an immersive online experience from June 20 to August 29, 2026. Designed for high school and college students worldwide, the program allows learners to study a broad range of medical topics guided by Columbia physicians, researchers, and students. Curriculum highlights include patient history taking, simulated patient interviews, ethical debate, anatomy systems study, and research paper crafting. Additionally, participants can optionally pursue certification as Community Health Literacy Workers by engaging with Columbia’s Neurology Department on critical health issues like stroke and dementia. With over 22 hours of live sessions and numerous asynchronous activities, mentees receive extensive academic and community-oriented training in a supportive, flexible atmosphere without traditional grading. This summer initiative promotes global networking and fosters personal and academic growth in the medical sciences.
