Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
Marshall University College of Science has hosted STEAM-focused summer camps since 2013 for students in grades K-12. The camps emphasize interactive learning with science experiments blended with art and mathematics in a creative environment. With a comprehensive range of subjects including astronomy, biology, and computer programming, kids get the chance to engage in practical, activity-based lessons. Staffed by university professors, graduate students, and professionals, the camps maintain a low camper-to-staff ratio to provide individualized attention. Held on the university campus, these programs introduce participants to real science and a collegiate atmosphere. Recently, the camp expanded its reach from Cabell County to Kanawha and Tucker Counties, partnering with the National Youth Science Academy to broaden educational opportunities in these regions.
