Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
This three-week Pre-College summer program at Maine College of Art & Design provides high schoolers aged 15-18 with an immersive experience to explore life as an art and design undergraduate. With mentorship from professional artists, students select two artistic majors from a diverse range of disciplines and receive figure drawing instruction, culminating in portfolio development and exhibitions. The camp emphasizes hands-on projects and critical discussions about art, helping students hone essential skills for academic and career success. Participants reside in campus dormitories, engaging in a supportive creative community and enjoying Portland’s rich arts culture during free time. The program fosters personal growth through both academic guidance and exposure to an inspiring environment, with graduates receiving three college-level credits. This opportunity nurtures creative talents, preparing students for future collegiate studies and the professional art world.
