Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
Designed for children going into grades 1 to 3, the Junior Veterinary Medicine Summer Camp provides a fun and educational introduction to veterinary science. Campers begin by learning about what veterinarians do and how they care for pets such as cats and dogs, including advanced care techniques like treating stitches and fractures. Throughout the week, they will engage in various creative projects related to animal anatomy and body systems such as the circulatory and respiratory systems, including model building. The camp features a special visit from a real dog for hands-on practice, making the learning experience tangible and memorable. Participants complete approximately 20 activities and projects, and at the end of the camp, they receive a Future Veterinarian Kit along with a first aid kit to continue their learning at home. The program aims to offer a nurturing environment that stimulates curiosity and learning about animal care while maintaining a safe and interactive setting, occasionally inviting veterinary experts to enhance the camper experience.
