Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
The Jefferson Memorial Forest Summer Camps provide children between the ages of 7 and 15 an opportunity to combine educational nature exploration with traditional camp fun. Throughout the summer, campers engage in activities that cultivate scientific curiosity, outdoor survival skills, and imaginative play within the forest setting. Activities include trail exploration, archery, canoeing, and creative arts inspired by forest creatures and folklore. The camps focus on experiential learning with a strong emphasis on safety, supported by well-trained staff and a favorable counselor to camper ratio. Various thematic camps cater to different interests, such as survival skills, aquatic ecosystems, cryptid mythology, and fairy-tale inspired crafts and performances. Parents can register online via the Metro Parks Class Registration System and are reminded of the self-medication policy to maintain camper safety. The program promotes environmental stewardship, social skills, and confidence-building while providing memorable adventures in nature.
