Illinois Aerospace Institute (IAI) Summer Camp

The Illinois Aerospace Institute (IAI) summer camp offers an immersive one-week experience for students entering grades 9 to 12 interested in aerospace engineering. With options for two residential sessions on campus and a virtual session online, campers receive comprehensive exposure to aerospace subjects through interactive workshops, lectures, and trips. The program enables hands-on learning by having students design and build model gliders and rockets, promoting problem-solving and engineering skills. Virtual participants attend live sessions via Zoom and complete projects at home. The camp is open by invitation only and includes scholarships. Organized by the University of Illinois’ Aerospace Engineering Department, IAI encourages juniors and seniors to participate in the residential programs for optimal engagement.
