Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
The Summer Scholars program at Heritage College provides an intense four-week academic experience crafted for premedical students from underserved communities, aiming to introduce them to the medical school environment. Throughout the program, students encounter a curriculum similar to that of first-year medical students, focusing on subjects like biomedical sciences and osteopathic principles. Experienced faculty and students lead workshops designed to develop academic skills and provide insights into the medical school journey. Only 24 students are chosen annually, with preference for those who have faced challenges on their medical school pathway but remain committed to serving medically underserved areas. The program also emphasizes teamwork and personal development alongside academic readiness for medical school.
