Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
The Health Careers Camp, located at Kennett High School in North Conway, New Hampshire, offers a unique opportunity for middle school students (grades 7-9) to immerse themselves in the medical field during a summer week from July 7 to 11, 2025. With support from MaineHealth Memorial Hospital, SOLO Schools, and the Mt Washington Valley Schools to Career Program, the camp provides hands-on learning experiences where campers use genuine medical tools alongside healthcare professionals. Activities include learning to draw blood, give injections, apply casts, suture wounds, and conduct wilderness rescues. The camp also includes emergency medical training and CPR certification opportunities. Running daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (subject to change due to excursions), the camp costs $200, with financial aid options to accommodate all interested students. This program has a longstanding tradition of guiding participants towards careers in health care, including nursing, dental hygiene, and veterinary medicine. It welcomes motivated students from across the Mount Washington Valley and Lakes Region communities such as Conway, Fryeburg, and Gorham.
