Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
The Health Care Camps at Georgia Highlands College offer an enriching summer program for students entering grades 5 through 12 who are interested in health professions. Taking place on the Rome campus, these camps are co-hosted by Georgia Highlands College, Atrium Health Floyd, and Blue Ridge Area Health Education Center and focus on practical health care experiences. Students get hands-on exposure to multiple health specialties, including nursing, emergency services, pharmacy, and more. Unique camp features include interacting with a Life Force helicopter, examining a real cadaver organ, and using the Body Interact Virtual Patient Simulator for realistic patient care simulations. The camp also includes interactive team challenges such as decontamination drills following hospital protocols. These activities are designed to demystify health care environments and prepare students for future careers. The camps run from morning till late afternoon over a few days in June, with an affordable fee structure and incentives for early registration.
