Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
The HAWS camps are specially designed for children between 7 and 14 years old, providing immersive experiences that teach empathy and respect for animals through hands-on care and interactive activities. Campers will have the chance to walk dogs, care for cats, explore nature trails, and even handle snakes, building confidence and a sense of responsibility. Camps take place at the Waukesha main shelter and the Delafield Schallock Center, with multiple seasonal options such as School Day Off Camps on Waukesha school holidays, Winter Camps that combine fun winter activities with animal care, and Spring Camps filled with animal-centric games and learning. Summer camps offer a broad range of thematic programming including animal care, art, science, and leadership development. Registration for summer sessions starts February 3, . Thanks to the support from generous donors, HAWS can provide scholarships to children who might otherwise be unable to attend, helping foster a community that respects and cares for animals and each other.
