Georgetown University’s 1-Week Medical Academy provides high school students with an engaging introduction to the medical profession at the nationally recognized Georgetown University Medical Center. This summer program encompasses a broad array of topics including anatomy, radiology, surgery, cancer treatment, and ethics, with hands-on activities like suturing, casting, and dissections. Students learn directly from medical professionals and engage with state-of-the-art medical simulations. The program combines interactive lectures and discussions, covering specialties such as emergency medicine, internal medicine, and trauma surgery. Tuition covers accommodation and meals, with a separate commuter option available. Students completing the week receive a Certificate of Participation and gain valuable exposure to the medical field and college-level experiences.
