Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
Fly Legacy’s Learn to Fly Camp provides a unique summer aviation experience for children aged 6 to 14 and adults interested in aerospace. The camp features hands-on STEM activities teaching how aircraft fly, construction and flying of balsa gliders, and learning about commercial aviation careers. Campers get to pilot flight simulators and even real aircraft, with recordings to capture their journey. Multiple week-long day camp sessions run from mid-June to mid-August, operating weekdays from 9 am to 4 pm, costing $480 for the week. Additional weekend and single-day programs accommodate different schedules. The curriculum includes physics of flight, Newtonian mechanics, weather patterns, flight control, space exploration, and aviation physiology. Advanced camps delve into aerodynamics, aircraft systems, airport operations, and navigation. Guided by Gregory P. Kennedy, an experienced aerospace educator and author, students gain practical flying skills and deeper aviation knowledge, sparking passion for aviation careers and flight.
