Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
The Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine’s Early Identification Program provides selected students with a comprehensive two-part summer experience designed to advance their medical school preparedness. Participants in the first summer engage in a 10-week intensive research program at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute, along with clinical skills introduction and MCAT prep. The subsequent summer offers a 6-week clinical rotation experience across different departments in Carilion Clinic, emphasizing practical clinical skills, MCAT study, and medical school application advice. The program is especially aimed at students who face systemic barriers in accessing medical education. Applicants must be rising juniors or seniors from specific universities, maintain strong academic standings, and meet other eligibility criteria including U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
