Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
The EAA Chapter 690 Aviation Summer Camp is an engaging STEM program targeting middle and high school students, aimed at immersing them in aviation sciences and hands-on learning experiences at Gwinnett County Airport in Lawrenceville. Taking place from June 16-20, with a complimentary Young Eagles flight on June 21, this camp offers a tiered experience based on age groups: Alpha for 12-13 years, Bravo for 14-15 years, and Charlie for 16-18 years who aspire to earn private pilot credentials. Daily activities run from 9 AM to 4 PM and encompass topics including aircraft design, aerodynamics, R/C aircraft modeling, and helicopter flight education, alongside visits to Briscoe Field aviation facilities. Participants bring their own lunch Monday through Thursday, with Friday’s meal provided by the camp. Fees are set at $325 for Alpha and Bravo groups, while the advanced Charlie camp costs $475. Due to growing demand and limited slots, prospective campers are encouraged to apply early. The camp fosters a comprehensive aviation STEM learning pathway supported by dedicated volunteers.
