The Della Keats Program offers a unique summer residential experience for Alaskan high school juniors and seniors, designed to motivate and equip them for careers in biomedical, medical, and health-related fields. This program is dedicated to enhancing educational and career opportunities for Alaska Native and underrepresented students by immersing them in college-level health science curriculum, hands-on research, and professional job shadowing. Students gain valuable academic skills, cultural support, and career insights through a mix of coursework, research internships, guest lectures, and community-building activities. The program strives to increase early college success and confidence, helping students navigate both academic challenges and social aspects of higher education. Through this supportive and immersive summer experience, participants are better prepared to pursue health professions and contribute to Alaskaโs biomedical workforce diversity.
